Created by an alliance of community and neighborhood developers in early 2003, HomeFirstTM Certified Communities promotes factory-built homes as a lifestyle choice. Thus far, only 13 Michigan manufactured homes communities have received the HomeFirstTM certification. These are land-lease communities where you own your home, but the high cost of the land and all of the improvements (streets, utilities, etc.) are already paid for by the landlord. This results in greater affordability so you can get more home for your money!

To achieve the HomeFirstTM Certified Community designation, communities must meet certain standards, such as providing 24-hour, on-site management; a five-year rate guaranteed home site lease; luxurious clubhouse; recreational facilities; and year-round community activities and events.
